It consists of narrowcasting and broadcasting medium such as magazines, TV, billboards, newspapers, telephones, fax, internet and radio. However, media has an impact on the way people think and act. In addition, it influences the behavior of people especially children and youths. When they try to imitate something observed from the media, it is hard to differentiate between rights from wrong. They end up imitating characters blindly especially those whom they consider as their role models. Furthermore, entertainment industry presents the wrongdoings of celebrities idolized by youths and children. However, since they are the heroes of these young peoples mind they are still highly ranked despite the bad behavior portrayed in public (Campbell et al, 2013).Indeed media has a negative impact on the way people act. This is because it contributes to negative psychological effects that alter the outlook and behavior of people towards life. In addition, media changes the moral and cultural values of people in the society. Many people, especially youths and children, believe that what is presented by the media is acceptable and true. This alters their judgment and causes altercations. Media exposes people to Celebrities they consider as their role models. These celebrities are associated with scandals and actions that are related to violence. However, people imitate these actions on the grounds that they looked cool when done by the celebrities. For instance, the scandal of Chris Brown, the R B singer, being charged 50, 000 US dollars for assaulting his girlfriend Rihanna. Chris Brown and Rihanna got into a fight where he punched her on the face and threatened to kill her (Campbell et al, 2013). Just like these kind of celebrities, people desire to get involved in such violence and appear in the ne ws. Furthermore, they believe that any kind of publicity is a good publicity. People get into blind imitation because when imitating their role models they do not think of whether they are doing right or wrong. Media mainly focuses on the bad, the wrong, or the controversial part of a celebritys life. This kind of news often affect the vulnerable age, especially teenagers and children, because they are influenced by things that are put in a jazzy way. As a result, they drop out of school and engage in criminal acts.Media also leads to dissemination of wrong message. It highlights the negatives in the society with the aim of awakening the audience about them. For instance, it can portray the negative effects of drug addiction through advertisements. Unfortunately, the message is sometimes misconstrued. The awakening fails to reach everyone and if it does, it reaches the public in the wrong way. Therefore, there is a section of people the media negatively influences. Furthermore, wha t is shown with the aim of spreading a message eventually becomes an onslaught of the bad. The good goes unnoticed while the bad is overinflated. Depiction of the bad negatively affects the young people who fail to interpret the things being shown.
